2011

In 2011, I was the Snack Bar Specialist at Philmont’s trading post, Tooth of Time Traders. My job included: personnel management, ordering, inventory, marketing, customer service, and customer entertainment.

That summer was one of my favorite on record. I ventured around New Mexico and Colorado, met some awesome people, and hiked with two crews from back home in Erie, Pa. At work, I had a blast and got paid in the process.  My snack bar motto: Epic but simple, fun but productive, and totally exciting for all.

 

I spent a lot of time in the snack bar. New products came in and sales went up. By the end of the summer, I was crowned "Snack Bar Czar" and on my last day, the staff raised me up on their shoulders and paraded me outside. What a way to go.
